Our priorities and why they are important Our aim is to enhance the effectiveness of our long-term family based care model. The outcome of the work will depend on the quality and success of the social integration for our children and youth within the Sudanese culture, believes and religions. The main focus will be on supporting the villages and especially also the youth facilities to reach the standards contained in the SOS Childrens Village Manual and SOS Sudan concept. A key secondary objective will be to utilise capacity to the maximum to contribute to continental and global goals in terms of beneficiary numbers.

Changes in our environment which led to our objectives Sudan, the largest country in Africa, again faced many challenges in 2009 that have affected the people both on the social and economical levels. The incidents that happened in Khartoum in November 2009 due to the mistrust between the government of Khartoum (the National Congress) and the SPLM authorities, indicates clearly the situation in Sudan and its future as well.
Our country, like all other developing countries, has been dealing with skyrocketing prices of food and non-food items that continue to increase on a daily basis and nobody can be able to guess when the prices shall stop skyrocketing. On the other hand salaries are keeping to same rate of last years nothing new on that side
In spite of all that which might tie our hands and limit our efforts, we have utilized our availability and reached out to the target number of children in the villages and family strengthening programme (FSP), as well as made achievements on other child protection efforts. The focus of our work was to look for new ways in order to reach more children, which we were able to achieve to a high degree in a way or another, (Direct services or indirect ones).
