She's the youngest and only girl in the house. Three-year-old Alexandra is the apple in the eyes of all her five older SOS brothers and of SOS mother Gabriela. She came to the care of SOS Children's Village Cisnadie in early 2006, making a home out of her new SOS family in no time.
When Alexandra plays loudly with her toys, "Bam bam, I am the monster!" yells the little one, throwing the yellow doll with the red hair.
"Alexandra created a bond with the entire family very quickly," says mama Gabi. "After four of my older children moved to the SOS Youth Facility in Sibiu, I guess she figured out how being the youngest can be an advantage."
In a house full of boys, Alexandra also figured the only way to have all the toys is to play with cars. So she developed a great liking for toy trucks and every other available plastic machinery. The boys don't mind though. Eleven-year-old Sharban is ready to give his little SOS sister every wheel he owns just to keep the smile on Alexandra's face.
"Sometimes she won't go to sleep without holding a toy car," says Sharban. "Naaaah!" yells Alexandra. "When mama says 'Alexandra bed time' I put on my pajamas and fall asleep at once." The giggles from the rest of the family tell the opposite. While Alexandra tries to figure out why everyone's laughing, Sharban hides the yellow doll. Too late! The girl noticed him and hides until he gives it back.
This autumn, Alexandra has a big challenge in front of her, called - nursery. She can't wait to play with all the children.
What will she do when she gets older, Alexandra is asked, "I will work at my SOS brother, Sharban's, car wash and I'll be the car wash princess," says the little one and goes back to her routine of the day, "Bam! I am the monster!"

Schoolbook lying on the table at Children's Village Islice, Latvia.
Modesty and tendency to help others are not the only qualities she has, Liga is also known as a hobby-psychologist among her friends at school.
Liga Commands the Newspaper
Liga is 14-year-old director of the villages' newspaper called "The steering wheel". Her job is to make sure that the correspondents come up with the ideas and the money-things are ok.
When the newspaper was founded she watched the new activity closely and then decided to join. As she enjoys working with other children she has found the right position at the paper - the director.
Modest director
The members of the editorial staff meet every weekend and discussed the topics, which could be covered in the newspaper.
"I like that we wrote about friendship," she says. She is being modest, because she was the one who wrote about it. "She can write good essays for school," the SOS mother says full of pride.
In the second edition she wrote about the school. She wrote the editorial saying: "May is coming to an end, everybody is tired from the long school year, but we just have to make the final efforts."
"I like to watch how our village's psychologist works and among friends I am a person who listens everybody's sorrows and helps them if I can. I can say that I am trusted," she tells.
Psychologist as a profession is one of her favourites future-jobs. "Or maybe I will be the director of the nursery," she says.
