There are four members of the Georgian SOS Playbus team. In their work they help children to learn through playing games. The SOS Playbus also helps children to make friends.

The SOS Playbus team often travels to the suburbs of Tbilisi. There, in between the massive blocks of buildings, children don't have much room for playing. Instead they stay indoors, alone, playing computer games. The picture is pretty much the same with the adults.

The playbus educators observed that "When we were doing our activities in one of the suburbs, towards the end of the session, one parent approached us and expressed her gratitude. She explained how she moved in that district recently and didn't know anyone. The SOS Playbus activities gave her a chance to meet neighbours and make friends."

The Republic of Benin is located in West Africa on the Gulf of Guinea. Benin's coast is a sandy barrier beach with heavy surf. Immediately inland of the beach is a patchwork of shallow lagoons and estuaries and further north there is a fertile plateau called "Terre de Barre". Further to the north, are the Lama marshlands, which are regularly flooded, and are difficult to drain as a result of the peat they contain. Whilst there is an agricultural area in the north, most of the land in the rest of the country is short of nutrients and is hard to farm.

A dense tropical rainforest once covered much of the land beside the lagoon. However, the rainforest has largely been cleared.

Benin is one of Africa's poorest countries. As in colonial times, its economy still depends on subsistence agriculture and trade with neighbouring countries. Agriculture represents 35% of the gross national product and employs almost two thirds of the working population. In the 1970s, a large number of private businesses were nationalized.

However, in the early 1990s, as part of a programme of economic reforms initiated by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, several businesses were privatised. Benin became a member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), an organization that promotes economic cooperation and development.
