A snow fall in Children's Village Córdoba in Argentina.
I have a little collection of facts for you about the Córdoba village to go with the photo of new snow.
The SOS Children's Village Córdoba in Argentina, was Argentina's third SOS Children's Village, and the home to over 80 boys and girls in ten family houses.
It is situated ten kilometers from the provincial capital Córdoba in central Argentina. Córdoba has more than 1.2 million inhabitants and lies approximately 700 km west of Buenos Aires.
SOS Children's Villages began its work in Argentina in the seventies. The first SOS Children's Villages were established in Oberá and Mar del Plata on the Atlantic coast.
At present we have four SOS Children's Villages in Argentina, alongside 3 SOS Youth Homes, 2 SOS Nursery Schools, 1 SOS School and 1 SOS day-care centre.

I have found you some background first about the country of Armenia and then about the family support provided there.
Armenia is the mountainous country in south-west Asia. It borders with Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. It has been home to SOS Children's Villages since 1989.
Children without parental care need long-term care, which is generally lacking in Armenia. There are not enough nurseries or schools either.
More than 80% of pre-school children cannot go to nursery. Almost a quarter of children have left school by the tenth school year.
One of the most important issues in the welfare system is the quality of out-of-home care for orphans and neglected children.
Since 2006, SOS Children's Villages Armenia has set up family support in three locations: Gyumri, Yerevan and Ijevan.
The support is co-ordinated by three SOS Social Centres and reach out to more than 800 children and their families.
They support families in need of help and families that simply cannot care for their children independently.
Support is provided in the field of education, health and nutrition, and leisure activities are offered to help the children to develop.
Joint sports events and day trips are also organized, and the SOS Social Centres offer extra tuition if needed.
At the SOS Social Centre in Gyumri, those who are part of the programme can switch off from their everyday lives and express themselves creatively through different activities like painting, music and handicrafts.
The children have many interesting things to do with their free time, from computers to art and painting, from learning to weave carpets to singing and practicing English.
Courses are on offer the whole year round. They offer practical activities and help the children to discover their skills and talents.
